The Fourteen Swimsuits I Packed for Fiji

I worked for two of Australia’s leading swimwear companies for over nine years fitting and styling primarily women, of all ages, sizes, ethnicities, and abilities in swimwear. Over this time I amassed a rather sizeable collection of swim, and even though I left the industry a year ago I continue to find myself lusting after and buying new swimwear.

From when I began working with swimwear to now my body has changed a lot. Huge hormonal fluctuations while dealing with Endometriosis sent my bust into a second puberty, growing a total of four cups sizes from a C to an F. Weight and muscle have been gained and lost at various times, as my diet and exercise routine (or lack of) have changed with my motivations and mental health.

But years of working intimately fitting other people in swimwear has given me a lot of perspective on bodies and how we see them so I firmly believe in wearing the swimwear that you want to and not following the “norms” that society tries to push on us of how we should dress. Trust me, at the beach everyone is either having too good a time, or being too focussed on what others might think of them to be judging you.

Back to the purpose of this post, when packing for our six night Fijian holiday earlier this year I had to choose my favourite pieces of the moment to bring with me. And I still ended up bringing fourteen swimsuits. Not all were worn, but with the help of multiple changes a day I got through a lot of them!

To see everything I packed, my size in each swimsuit, and links to any that are still available keep scrolling through the gallery below. Some photos are from our holiday and others I tried back on to show you!

To help guide you with sizing, I take a size 10 in jeans, and a size 10F bra and I only recommend upsizing pieces that tie if you are looking for more coverage (as I have done in the second swimsuit) as all swimwear will stretch half a size within the first 5 wears in water. A firm fit is a good fit in swimwear to keep up support and avoid sagging fabric.
