The Christmas List

Normally I would have released my October list earlier this month, but the month got away from me and now suddenly Christmas postage cut offs are coming up! So I thought instead I would collate everything I have found so far in my hunt for gifting ideas and decor.

Decor.

After working in Home and Furniture Retail over last Christmas, I quite like the look of an overfull Christmas tree. A mix of visual textures in glass or glitter filled ornaments makes a stunning visual, and I am quite partial to quirky, vintage style ornaments too.

Home & Lifestyle.

I have some rules around buying people homewares as gifts that can be seen as more practical, and that is that there is something about it that they love but would not prioritise spending the money on. It can be a little unique twist, a level up of luxe, or something fun, but the main criteria is enough of a point of difference that it would be deprioritised in favour of more practical necessities.

Beauty.

When gifting beauty, we aren’t focussing on the every day as much as offering a way for your loved ones to take a moment and treat themselves. So many gifting kits are focussed around trialling new products, and while that can be fun to do I prefer to focus on items that can have a bit more of a universal appeal and feel less like you’ve noticed something you feel the recipient could improve on. An added bonus is that this approach makes these gifts feel a bit less gender exclusive.

Fashion.

Fashion is super personal to every person, so buying key items for someone’s wardrobe is a very daunting and hard to get right gift. But purchasing complimenting pieces and accessories in colours that you know they love is much more achievable. Think upgrading their resortwear, gorgeous purses, delicate jewellery and accessories, all in colours that you know they wear and love. If you are still nervous, you can always gift with a gift receipt so items can be exchanged later for correct sizes or an item they prefer.
