New Winter Staples

I have never been a winter person, if money was no object I would happily live on different sides of the world seasonally to stay in an eternal summer. Add working with swimwear for 9 years and until this year my winter wardrobe was a complete after thought that was built purely for warmth.

As someone who finds a lot of joy in clothing, this has meant I’ve felt even more dread about cold weather as every day is the battle of having nothing to wear while also needing to warm up. Over the past year since leaving swimwear and then retail behind, I have built up some better basics that now make my winter wardrobe much more practical and enjoyable to wear.

Finding really good basics has been a key part of this process. Once I found the perfect pair of straight, white jeans I purchased them also in indigo denim to build out my denim staples. The rest are all pieces that caught my attention immediately thanks to their smaller details, from both of the gorgeous Audrey Leighton Vintage items that I have purchased from her limited collections due to their elevated but classic nature, to the Ribbed Activewear that makes for a much nicer look and feel than straight lycra.

Not all of these pieces are still available to purchase, but I hope they can be a small guide to help you find inspiration for pieces to help fill gaps in your own wardrobe.
