Five rambling facts about me.

I am from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia and have literally never lived anywhere else. But I have always been the extra creative soul of my family doing a lot of musical and arty things as I grew up. I originally wanted to be a stylist but once I saw my brand vision I knew that was what I needed to be doing someday. I have an adorable old man dog who is blind after a very fast progression into diabetes who funnily enough has skin allergies just like me. I’m obsessed with skincare and doing my best to get more into exercise because my attention span for it is still only half an hour at a time. Oh and I adore the beach but have only recently started going there more after years of studying and working. I am quite the perfectionist and often get jokingly referred to as OCD because I am a little too detail oriented.

I have a degree in Creative Industries. The confused look you’re giving the screen right now? Yep I get that a lot. Basically it was a portfolio degree where I combined a Fashion Communication Major with two minors in Marketing and Entertainment Industries with a few extra bit of entrepreneurial learnings to tie it all together. I’m equipped to do anything from Product Development and Buying in fashion to Styling and Trend Forecasting for really any trend based industry. Which leads me to….

I have two business ideas that if all goes well I ideally want established in the next five years. Mhmm, every time I think about that I get a strong craving for something alcoholic and delicious tasting. One of these is two years old and the other is much much newer because sometimes, you have a genius idea but its way too massively out of scope for the moment you are in. But one is definitely in the works to launch in the next couple of months. Which one? Well thats a bit of a secret for now. But I promise this is going to be a topic I explore on here as I go on my entrepreneurial journey. Want little tidbit to start you off? I can tell you right now that I am very excited about both and if you know anyone with a load of money please hit me up. I'm only about 50% joking when I say that too #sendhelp

I swear a fair bit and can talk for FOREVER. Obviously, I know how to tone it down and be professional, but at the same time I feel like swearing can be a better way of expressing things when the moment calls for it (or the English language fails you). I promise it will never be crazy but know there is always going to be some. But the talking, oh jeez I apologise in advance because it is HARD to tone that down.

I used to hate my surname Gray and for the weirdest reason. Growing up in Australia we spell the colour as “grey” like our British heritage dictates. But in primary school that doesn’t click to kids easily unless your parents have told you from a young age that your name is Gray like the colour but not spelt the same. So me being me I got annoyed about how often kids in my class would ask the spelling of my surname because they couldn’t remember how to spell the colour. I actually had a whole *sigh* “As in my surname or the colour?” routine of sass down because it grew old fast. And then after I just saw my surname was just a boring inconvenience. That is until I grew up, became more minimal and found a favourite shade of grey instead of a favourite colour. And now I'm even using it in blog titles!

So there you have it! I hope this was a good little insight into me to start off our journey together.

Emily xx
