Trending (for once).
Meet my most up to date outfit. I’m a major outfit repeater – I can only think of about 4 outfits I only wore once ever including formal dresses. So, when I buy something it gets a LOT of use and often means my wardrobe is a little behind the current season. Half the reason I started this blog was to make myself play with my wardrobe more and rediscover items. But of course, once you start to have a good dig you can see what needs to go and get an update. This was a bit of a spontaneous buy, but it has definitely joined in with the rest of my wardrobe nicely.
I bought this dress a few weeks ago while at home on sick leave looking for a different dress for an engagement party. As soon as I saw the print I loved it and the shape made it a perfect addition to my wardrobe that I could dress up or down. This is already a favourite way of styling it, with my loafer mules, spiral hoop earrings, the clutch my boyfriend gave me and a coral lip. It’s the perfect way to spend a day and even finish with some casual dinner and drinks.
I can also see this as a great trans-seasonal piece with over the knee boots or a casual jacket. That is one of the beauties of living in Brisbane, our cooler weather is so mild you can wear summer dresses year-round. But while summer is here I’m going to make the most of wearing it as is, with simple accessories. You’ll soon notice this is how I style most things, but sometimes that’s all I need to really appreciate a good piece. And if you’ve been following along on my Instagram you would know I’ve already worn this dress a few times. Yep, guilty! Told you I'm a serial outfit repeater. But what can I say, when I appreciate an outfit I will WEAR that outfit to the ground!
